Introducing Ask Duo AI.

DuoApp already holds the answers to most of the questions a director asks on a Monday morning. The trouble is that they're spread across Analytics, Invoices, Timesheets, Approvals, the Projects page and a few more. Finding out "how is Riverside doing?" usually means opening four screens and doing some adding up.

Ask Duo AI does the looking up for you. Open the ✦ Ask Duo AI button, type your question, and you get an answer in a line or two, with the table or chart it came from underneath.

What you can ask

If DuoApp records it, there's a good chance you can ask about it. Some examples:

• Projects and progress: "How far along is Riverside?", "Which plots are overdue?", "Which projects have tasks with outstanding issues?"
• Money: "Which projects are overspent?", "How much retention are we holding?", "What has each subcontractor claimed this month?"
• Approvals: "What's waiting for approval?", "Just the invoices", "What's the oldest thing waiting?"
• People: "Who's on site right now?", "Who's off next week?", "Whose documents expire in the next 30 days?"
• Prices: "How has the price of 1st fix wiring changed over the last two years?"
• Aftercare and quality: "Which aftercare jobs have been open longest?", "Which QC inspections were declined this month?"
• The whole picture: "What needs my attention today?" or "How is Riverside doing overall?" Duo AI checks several reports and brings the answers together.

Follow-ups work as you'd expect. Ask "And last month?" or "How about 2nd fix?" and it picks up where you left off. Ask from a project's page and "this project" means the one you're looking at. Each answer suggests a couple of questions to try next and links straight to the right page in DuoApp, such as the project, invoice or plot, so you can act on what you've found.

Figures you can trust

A tool that guesses at money is worse than no tool at all, so we built Ask Duo AI the other way round. It doesn't do its own maths. Each question is answered from the same reports and services behind DuoApp's own pages, and the figures in every table and chart are taken directly from those reports. Duo AI decides which report to check, writes the one-line answer and chooses which tables to show you. Because it reads from the same place as the page, an answer won't disagree with the screen it came from. Each answer says which report it used, with a link to view it in DuoApp.

Kept on a short lead

Ask Duo AI has been designed to be useful without being nosy:

• It only reads. It never changes anything. Ask it to approve the invoices or change a price and it will tell you that's not something it does.
• Admins only. Questions about money and people stay with the people who should be asking them. Only company admins can see and use it.
• Your company's data only. Every company's data is kept completely separate, and your data is never used to train AI models. It can't tell you how other firms price their work.
• Personal details stay out. It doesn't read contact details, bank or VAT details, homeowners' details, locations, leave notes or appointment notes. Ask for someone's phone number and it will point you to the right page instead.
• Records, not predictions. It answers from what's recorded in DuoApp. It won't forecast whether a project will finish on time.
• Your questions aren't kept. We don't store your conversation. Our usage log records who asked and when, but not the question.

How to get it

Company admins can start a free trial themselves: open ✦ Ask Duo AI in DuoApp, on desktop or in the mobile app, and ask your first question. After the trial, Ask Duo AI continues as an optional paid plan. If you'd rather not have it, a full admin can remove it for the whole company under Admin → DuoApp Features.

Ask Duo AI is part of Duo AI, which also reads compliance documents and receipts, writes a weekly summary email and helps you build estimates. Each of those fills in what it can and leaves a person to check it. Those are switched on for your company by the DuoApp team, so ask us if you'd like them.
