Switch it on and choose who uses it

Site attendance is off until your company turns it on. Admins then pick exactly which people clock in - everyone else sees nothing in their app.

Each project gets a site boundary

DuoApp creates a boundary from the project address. Move the pin to the site gate or compound and set the radius to fit the site.

Staff clock in and out on their phone

The phone's position is checked against the boundary at that moment. No signal? The clock-in is stored on the phone with its time and position, and syncs when signal returns.

Managers see who's on site now

A live list per project, a fire roll for the muster point, an attendance map and a report with anything unusual already flagged.

Forgot to tap in? An admin can add the missing entry with a reason. Every manual entry is audited against the admin who made it.

Clock-ins work offline and sync automatically when signal returns, with the original time and position. The fire roll opens offline on the marshal's phone.

Attendance, not surveillance.

Site attendance is designed around UK GDPR and the ICO's guidance on monitoring workers. The limits aren't settings you have to remember to switch on - they're how it works.

Location only at clock events

Position is captured when someone clocks in or out - never in between, never in the background. The app asks for "While using the app" permission only.

Only the people you choose

Admins pick exactly who uses it. Everyone else sees nothing - no button, no prompt and no request for their location.

Clear notice, open records

Before first use, staff see a plain-English privacy notice and acknowledge it. They can view their own clock history at any time.

Coordinates deleted automatically

Raw coordinates are deleted after a retention period your company sets - 90 days by default. The on-site or off-site result is kept for your records.

How it works in practice.

Does DuoApp track where my people are during the day?
No. The phone's position is taken only at the moment someone taps clock in or clock out, and compared with that project's site boundary. There is no continuous or background tracking, and the app asks for "While using the app" location permission only - never "Always".
Does everyone in the company have to use it?
No. Site attendance is switched off until your company turns it on, and then admins choose exactly which people use it. Anyone who isn't on the list sees nothing - no clock-in button, no prompts and no location requests.
What happens if there's no signal on site?
They can still clock in. The time and position are stored on the phone and sync automatically when signal returns. The fire roll also opens offline on the marshal's phone, so it's there when you need it most.
What happens if someone clocks in outside the site boundary?
The clock-in is flagged so managers can see it in the attendance report. Your company decides how strict to be: accept it with a flag, require the person to give a reason, or block it altogether.
How is the site boundary set?
Each project gets a boundary from its address automatically. Admins can move the pin - to the site gate or compound, for example - and set the radius to suit the site.
How long is location data kept?
Raw coordinates are deleted after a retention period your company sets - 90 days by default. The on-site or off-site result and the clock times are kept as part of your attendance records.
What about UK GDPR?
Site attendance is designed around UK GDPR and the ICO's guidance on monitoring workers: location only at clock events, only for the people you choose, a privacy notice that staff acknowledge before first use, access to their own clock history, and automatic deletion of coordinates. As the employer you remain the data controller, so you should still tell your people why you're using it - the ICO recommends a data protection impact assessment before monitoring workers. Yes. If someone forgets to clock in or out, an admin can add the missing entry with a reason. Every manual entry is recorded against the admin who made it, so the record stays honest.
