DuoApp brings your projects, invoicing, approvals, timesheets and documents into one connected system. You don't have to switch everything over on day one — the fastest way to learn it is to set up a single live job and run it end to end. This guide walks through that first set-up.
1. Set up your company
When you first sign in, head to Settings and complete your company profile. This is the information that flows onto your invoices and applications, so it's worth getting right once:
- Company details — registered name, address, company number and VAT number.
- CIS status — whether you operate as a contractor, a subcontractor, or both, so deductions are handled correctly from the start.
- Branding — upload your logo so documents you send out look like yours, not ours.
- Bank details — the payment information that appears on the invoices you issue.
2. Add your team
Invite the people who'll be using DuoApp and give each of them a role. Roles control what someone can see and do — an office administrator and a site foreman don't need the same access. You can keep it simple to begin with and refine permissions later.
For the full walkthrough, see inviting your team and setting roles.
3. Create your first project
A project in DuoApp is a single job or site. Create one for a job you're running right now — not an archived one — so you feel the benefit immediately. Give it a name, a client, a value and a start date, and you've got the container that everything else hangs off: tasks, applications, documents and timesheets.
Full detail is in creating and structuring a project.
Done in your first session
- Company profile, CIS status and bank details completed
- Your core team invited with the right roles
- One live project created with its value and client
- The mobile app installed by anyone who works on site
4. Get the app on site
The office and the site need to see the same information. Anyone working on site should install the DuoApp mobile app and sign in with their own login. It works offline and syncs when there's signal again, so a variation or a photo captured in a basement isn't lost.
What to do next
Once your first project is live, the natural next steps are setting up how you bill it and who signs things off. Start with how automatic invoicing works and setting up smart approvals. If you'd rather have us set it up alongside you, book a walkthrough and we'll do it on one of your own jobs.
